Magda Hueckel (1978)
Visual artist, theatre photographer, set designer, traveler. Her work has been exhibited at dozens of exhibitions in Poland and around the world (including Tate Britain in London). In 2013 her photo book Anima. Pictures from Africa 2005–2013 was published, and a year later it was nominated for the Photography Publication of the Year Award. In 2015 she published her photo book HUECKEL/TEATR. She has worked on film projects with Tomasz Śliwiński as a scriptwriter and camera operator. Their documentary Our Curse was nominated for an Academy Award, and won prizes at numerous international festivals. A graduate of the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, she has been awarded scholarships by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the City of Sopot. Between 2002 and 2004, together with Agata Serafin, she formed the photographic duo hueckelserafin.
Salvatore Vitale
Swiss-based photographer born and raised in Palermo. In 2014 he attended the International Center of Photography—ICP’s class with Allen Frame, and was selected for the ISSP International Masterclass by Andrei Polikanov and Yuri Kozyrev. In 2015 he was named among Die Besten 2014 at Swiss Photo Awards. In 2015-2016 he is a recipient of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia’s grant for his long-term research on the production of security in Switzerland. He is also the co-founder and editor-in-chief of YET magazine, a triannual Swiss photography magazine which showcases works by both emerging and established photographers as well as in-depth content focusing on the evolution of photography with a particular eye on the contemporary field. He has been featured and published internationally, and also gives lectures and talks about his work.
