Kim Knoppers, Foam (Netherlands)

 

Art historian and a curator at Foam in Amsterdam. In this role she has worked on several exhibitions together with emerging artists including Raphaël Dallaporta, Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs, Anne de Vries, Jan Hoek, Lorenzo Vitturi, Jan Rosseel and Anika Schwarzlose. She also curated group exhibitions and exhibitions of established photographers like Re-Search, Collaborate: On Artists’Collectives, Disfarmer, Bertien van Manen, Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin and Geert Goiris. Kim writes on a regular base for Foam Magazine and Unseen Magazine. She is founder and curator of Artists’ Recipes which explores the creativity at the heart of art and food. She lives and works in Amsterdam and stays on a regular base in Istanbul.

 

Knoppers is interested in a wide range of photography: from documentary photography to artists working with documentary strategies, and from archival material to photography as a research tool. She is also interested in emerging artists’collectives and DIY strategies.
